red

After some hours of wandering,
Abbie and Pengin started to get cold.

They leaned Penguin's bicycle against a tall tree and made a fire to keep warm.

Abbie was roasting marshmallows when Penguin noticed something weird above them in the darkness.

It was a streak of light in the sky.
"Bicycle?" Penguin speculated.
It fell behind a nearby tree.

*BOOM*
The crash was so loud, Abbie dropped a marshmallow she was about to eat.
Penguin jumped on her bicycle and rushed to the rescue,
with Abbie close behind.
But what they found wasn't a bicycle at all.
A bright star had crashed into the ground.
But the strangest thing was...

The two monkeys trying to pull it out!

With the four of them working together,
it was easy to dislodge the star!

Abbie shared her marshmallows with the gang, including the star (whose name was Red).

The monkeys' names were Mesus and Bad One,
but you probably knew that already.
After marshmallows they waved goodbye to Red; stars have a lot of very important things to do.

The four new friends sat still for a few moments in the darkness.

And then, there was Red! Rising up over distant treetops.
Abbie stomped out the fire.
Penguin hopped on her bicycle.
And off they went on a new day's adventure.

abbie

The beginnings are always the hardest,
and for Abbie it was no different.

"What am I?"
She would ponder at the mirror every morning,
but the mirror never answered.

This made some things at school very challenging.

When she was littler she thought she was a bear.
She played with all the bear cubs at recess and was the best fish catcher in her grade.

But as she got older,
she realized she wasn't a bear --
bears don't have antlers!
The other cubs laughed at her and called her names: "Moose!"

She found the other moose calves
jousting at P.E. one day...
and she fit right in!
No one could joust better than Abbie!

But after school she heard
them sniggering behind her back,
making fun of her stubby bear tail.
And she didn't want to be a moose anymore.

Not a moose, not a bear,
Abbie didn't know what to do!
She went the long way home...
through the dark, dark woods.

Even the wise owls didn't know what she was!
"Who?" "Who?" They called.

Abbie trudged onwards, disheartened.

Before she knew it, the moon was out.
She howled at it, hoping for a clue:
"Whoooooo!"

In response to her howl,
a strange animal popped out of the woods.
"Bicycle?"
It was a penguin!

Penguin hopped to Abbie and sniffed him,
then sighed unhappily.
"No Bicycle :("

"Did you lose your bicycle?" Abbie asked.
"I could help you find it."
Penguin only jumped up and down eagerly:
"Bicycle!"

Abbie put her nose to the
ground and started sleuthing.
Penguin followed excitedly.

And there it was!
Penguin's bicycle was hidden in a thicket of trees.

"Bicycle!"
Penguin exclaimed, running towards it.

She jumped on her bicycle
then looked back fondly at Abbie.
"Bear-Moose-Dog" Penguin accurately stated.
And suddenly everything clicked:
the fishing... the tail
the antlers... the jousting
the howling... the sniffing
Abbie was a bear-moose-dog all along.
"Woof!" Abbie barked.
"Bicycle!" Penguin replied.
Together Abbie, Penguin, and Bicycle
ventured back into the woods,
eager for the experiences to come.

mesus 15: penguin

One day, Penguin was.

The next day, Penguin was lonely.
But then she noticed something...

Another Penguin?

And she slipped on the ice!

*splash*
She was alone again,
but some place very different.

The air was thick and wet...
so thick she just floated,
so thick she could wave her arms and fly!
She flew in a circle.
She flew in a square.

Some things were very tasty,
but they usually flew away.
Other things were not so tasty,
and Penguin flew away.
Penguin was a little grumpy,
because she was still lonely.
She settled down in the cover of
a thick seaweed patch.

And that's when she saw something weird!
It wasn't like anything she had seen before.
It didn't run away, and neither did Penguin.

Penguin approached it cautiously.
It didn't move.
It didn't have any arms to move about,
so Penguin figured it was probably even more lonely than she!
"Bicycle!" She called it.
And they became best of friends.

With Bicycle, Penguin felt something new.
It was Happiness.

mesus 14: new horizons

Life was good, but their island was small. Mesus had an idea! Bad One got his magnifyin glass, Mess rolled a new leaf, and they got to work. They made three glass balls... and two bigger balls with holes in them, kind of like Jack-o-lanterns. Bad One was confused until Mesus strapped two of the solid balls to his shackles with leaf rope...
... and jumped in the water. "Great idea, Mesus!" Bad One threw his helmet on, grabbed a few leaves, and jumped in!

And they could swim! "Hooray!"
